Author and editor, Catrin Stevens, is an active member of women's organization, Merched y Wawr and a former editor of Y Wawr magazine. She visits societies and organizations to speak about this subject.

To celebrate the millennium, Merched y Wawr launched a project (in partnership with Trinity College Carmarthen and St. Fagan's natural history museum) to record women's experiences. A 1,000 women's voices through Wales were recorded - a valuable record for future generations. They spoke freely about a range of subjects, including family life, love, hobbies and politics. The book also contains photographs from the period, including work by photographer Geoff Charles.
