Meirion Jones
Paentiwr o Orllewin Cymru ydw i, a braidd ydw i’n cofio cyfnod pan nad oeddwn yn creu delweddau. Daw’r ysbrydoliaeth o dair sir yr hen Ddyfed, sef Ceredigion, Sir Benfro a Sir Gaerfyrddin yn bennaf gydag ambell i antur yn America Ladin.
Mae’r arddull yn newid drwy’r amser a ‘dw i wastad yn edrych am ffyrdd newydd i fynegi teimladau. Mae paentio yn broses sydd yn newid ac yn esblygu drwy’r amser. Rwy’n gallu cysegru fy holl amser i baentio, cymaint felly fel fy mod i’n creu pan nad oes brwsh yn fy llaw. Mae fy chwilfrydedd am bobl a thirlun y Gorllewin yn tyfu yn reddfol.
I’m a painter from West Wales, and I never knew a time when I wasn’t drawing or creating images. My inspiration comes mainly from the old counties of Dyfed, namely Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire – with a few escapades to Latin America.
My style evolves all the time and I’m constantly finding new ways to express my feelings. Painting is an ever changing, ever evolving process. I can devote all my time to painting, so much so that I paint even when I don’t have a brush in my hand. I have a growing curiosity with the people and landscape of West Wales.

Ers i mi ddod yn baentiwr llawn amser, mae themau fy ngwaith yn newid yn gyson , maent yn ymestyn o gapeli Anghydffurfiol Gorllewin Cymru, i arfordir ffrwydrol a dramatic Ceredigion a Phenfro. Mewn cyfnod byr mae’r gwaith wedi datblygu i fod yn ymateb emosiynol i dirlun yr ydw i’n teimlo’n angerddol ynglŷn ag e.
‘Dw i ddim am ddilyn unrhyw drywydd penodol, dim ond gadael i deimladau i lifo mewn paent.
Ever since becoming a full time painter the themes in my work are constantly changing. They range from the Nonconformist chapels of West Wales to the dynamic coastline of Cardiganshire and Pembrokeshire. In a short period of time the work has developed into an emotional and expressionistic response of the landscape which I feel so passionate about.
I have no plans for the future other than to leave these feelings flow in paint.
