The following has been provided by the Publisher:
Author Biography:
Anne Hayward read History at Oxford University and went on to become a teacher. In recent years, she has walked thousands of miles to places of pilgrimage in Ireland, Brittany, England and the Isle of Man, with each pilgrimage beginning and ending at her home in the Brecon Beacons area of Wales. Her first book, A Pilgrimage Around Wales, was published by Y Lolfa in 2018. She lives in Abergavenny.
Further Information:
Anne Hayward spent almost four months as a pilgrim, travelling on foot from her home in south Wales, through Somerset, Devon and Cornwall and across the English Channel to Brittany. She visited ancient Celtic places of worship and pilgrimage and numerous chapels and churches of different Christian denominations along the way.
In this book she gives some of the history of those places on her route and recalls conversations with those she encountered as a modern-day pilgrim.
A Celtic Pilgrimage will appeal to anyone who is interested in Christian spirituality and pilgrimage, Church history - especially early Church history in Wales, Brittany, and the west of England - and also who enjoys walking, camping and the outdoors.
